The Nighttime Routine: How to Sleep in Your Wig Without Ruining the HD Lace

Investing in a TrapTresses HD Lace unit is an investment in yourself. But to keep that "fresh out of the salon" look for months (or years), your bedtime routine is sacred.

Many clients ruin their wigs simply due to friction against cotton pillowcases. Here is the ritual to wake up flawless:

  1. Never sleep with wet hair: This causes matting, tangling, and can create a mildew smell. Always dry your unit completely before bed.

  2. Do the "Pineapple": If you are wearing a long or curly unit, gather all the hair to the very top of your head with a loose satin scrunchie. This preserves the wave pattern and prevents tangles at the nape.

  3. Satin is your best friend: Cotton absorbs moisture from the hair and causes frizz. Always use a satin bonnet or a silk pillowcase. It keeps the hair hydrated and smooth.

  4. Secure the edges: If your lace is glued down, tie a "melting band" around your hairline before sleeping. This keeps the lace pressed against your skin and prevents the edges from lifting up while you toss and turn.
